Great bike there. I did the cbt in august last year on a cb125 (6 ft 4 in and 17 stone ) poor bike. Then bought the vara 125 and started a one day a week das course - practicing what I had learned on the 500 such as counter stearing etc. Passed the big bike test at the end of nov and found an orange 1000 varadro a couple of days later heheh
on Monday last I did the Enhanced rider scheme and passed ok- sort of hooked now.
You will love it. Get wrapped up and get out there. Find a school you get on with and they are not just showing you how to pass the test.
Good luck

Best performance modification to a motorcycle is to improve the skills of it's rider!!! - long way to go then!

Hi guys and thanks again for the replies, i went for my cbt today and passed as most of the replies have mentioned there was no need for me to worry it was no problem. The only thing that caused me anny hassle was the slow control but i was improving the more i tried, all i need now is my mot and im set.
Congratulations phil, though you picked a shocking week to pass weather-wise!
The first sign of sun (in Troon) and some dry tarmac, wrap up warm and get out for a bimble. You'll soon change your mind about whether you want to keep riding!
There's a Skye invasion being planned for late Summer. Isle of Skye Trip

Well i took my CBT on a GS500 i had ridden bikes before. actually my daughter had CBX250RS that i was not riding at the time, and i had been riding a 50cc scoot, and had 5 years in the seventies on my RD,s, took the CBTand Direct access in the same week, Alex my instructor did me a combined course, the CBT bit was easy then the DA course was a piece of cake, after i remebered to cancel the indicators and check over my right shoulder ( lifesaver)
