    MoT question

Hi Folks, it's been a busy week, can anyone help?

Am I right in thinking I can ride an un-MoT'ed Bike to a test centre to a pre arranged test?

And what are the rules about riding it home (about 3 miles) if it fails (to either tweak and return within the 10 days, or to fettle over winter)

It's insured but no Tax (was sorn'ed, and sorn re-applied for) and last MoT ran out some time ago.

    Cheers

You can ride it there and back unless the test centre deems it to be dangerous to be on the road.. Then you'd have to transport it back

Dangerous means that it's got something a lot worse than just a general fail (like for example a huge crack in the frame)

    Thanks Kymmy,
I don't mind them finding something potentially big, if it saves me meeting the Big Guy before my time

I do and give the girls a once over before they go in, but you often become complacent, either that or (like me) you missed out on the basics, so how much movement is normal

It's always the daft things like bulbs and lose horn connections that make you scratch your head (and look for a friendlier test centre)
