On the flip side - how easy is it to hire a bike in Turkey? I am going to be there is October and would llike to pick up a bike for a few day, if possible. Thanks and good luck with your National adventure.
The Major - Suzuki GN250. My first and great love. A perfect old gentleman.
Miss O'Hara - BMW F650. She has potential.

You have some different alternatives. for ex:
    Rental (from Istanbul)

    Moto Aslanko (from Kemer-Antalya)

    these are professional...

And also you have lots of choice around coastal cities, but they have no insurence etc. they are not professional.

Buses in the UK are not as good/cheap/quick/stress-free as those in Turkey - I was just reminiscing about the efficient comfy ride I had on a trip from Ankara to Cappadokia and the air-hostess-like service with hot towels and free cologne, which much to her I declined.

Hiring a bike sounds like a good choice.

Yeah, when you've done that, will you tell us what it says?

Yes I read it. (ok I just lookover And they say lots of things but nothing. I find the bad thing for me you are using wrong side of the road ) And rain (as you know,it's usually sunny at here), and I couldn't find speed limits for motorcycle...
I'm working on it but problems; I have to bring my clothes and this is problem, renting there means money etc. etc. We gonna see what will happen...

Speed limits are the same as for cars.
