    There's a Supertenere for sale in Falkirk...It's on ebay now...Yours for £1300 I think...Looks a good 'un...you're close enough to have a good look.

Nearest Yamaha equivalent to the Twin...worth a look...could be fate...

Nothing to do with me...just remember seeing it

Jaseribbit, in case you are unsure what a "wiki" is, scroll to the top of the page and there you are! I still forget at times...

    Re: Wanted Africa twin 750

RD03- was the first model - 1988 - 1990 - These were all imports to the UK as far as I know and tend to be rarer and being the first ones seem to be more sought after. Prices tend to be higher than the RD04s despite them being older and 650cc. They have a single disk front brake. People say they were built in the honda racing factory in Japan (and many of them have HRC stickers on them) but there seems to be some debate about whether that was the case for all of them. I've read they're a bit lighter and better handling than the later models, so the difference in engine size might not be such an issue.

RD04 - 1990 to 1992/93 - These have a 750cc engine and tend to be a bit cheaper than the rd03 and some of the later models (depending upon condition - there are some rd04s in very good condition that are sold for more but not so often). Similar to the RD03s in many ways (some bodywork fits between the two models) but with bigger engine and twin disks on the front. The later RD04s come with a trip computer.

The RD03 and RD04 models are reputed to be better off-road and the build quality a bit better than the later models, but this needs to be balanced with them being older, and parts availability (particularly used) not being quite as good as the later models (though you can still get all the bits you need - including used parts if you don't mind waiting it out a little while on ebay etc. or calling around breakers or paying hondas premium prices for new parts).

RD07 - 1993 - ??? - The frame and bodywork changed, along with a few other things making them more road oriented than the earlier models (though people still use them off road and say they're still good for that - particularly compared to many other bikes that are sold as adventure bikes nowadays).

RD07a - The last model they made. Can't remember the exact years but if you check in the wiki link at the top of the forum it'll tell you in there. I think these were very similar to the RD07s but with a few tweaks.
