Actually I'm fairly lucky to have a wife who says "It's your money - do what you want". On the other hand, I jacked in my job in March to go freelance and at the moment I'm not even earning enough to pay for the petrol in my Tiger (and the diesel car sits in the drive and will stay there until fuel starts to come down a bit). In other words, it would be her money I'd be spending...

I tried gently mentioning it to her last night but she didn't even acknowledge it or ask any questions (not even "but you've already got a bike"), so I think I'll have to wait a while.

I know the itch will be scratched one day. I miss my Dominator except on A-roads and motorways...

Yippee, my first post that's been moved by a moderator into another thread. I feel as if I've "arrived"!

In fact, I just clicked the "new posts" button and saw one that I had no recollection of starting. Thought I must be getting old. And I'm only 29 and a bit.

Slight update on the saga. As I was about to leave the office I was working in today I got a call. To cut a long story short, there's a slight possibility I'm about to land a six-month project that will see me earning as much in three days a week as I was earning in five days a week just a few months ago. I called my wife (she's not here tonight) and told her, closing the call "If I get it, I'll buy that Africa Twin I was telling you about". I didn't catch her response!
