Red face DT125R or something similar

Hiya, i'm looking for a 125 for my girlfriend something she can also use to come trail riding with me. Ideally a dt125r as my dad has one and its a great bike i would "borrow" his but it is in france. Want a reliable but pretty cheap one.

She will be taking her test soon for a restricted liscence so its mainly for that purpose otherwise its £40 a day to hire one so for 10 lessons its £400!!! so if we buy one and she could then sell on again after she passes her test or feels ready to go up a size.

It could be any bke really as long as its off roady reliable and fun for a learner. Hieght doesn matter as she is very tall so can get her feet down even on a ktm adventure S!!

Oh and she lives n cornwall and would be looking to get it asap

    Cheers guys!

    Apparently, it's also on fleabay.

No idea what it's like, just saw the advert. Any use?

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

it looks lovely, but thats a bike for me (an oldie) she's gonna have to have something a bit newer for reliability, for a mechanical engineer she knows sod all about mechanics !!

    That's Mechanical Engineers for you!

However, speaking as an Electrical Engineer.........

Hope you find something suitable soon.

    Yo Pete,
my nieces boyfreind has an old-ish black DT125 and he is taking his test next month so he may be selling that one. You may of seen it around, my son had it last and passed his test on it (2nd time but with only 2 lessons total cost £160?) Sam who drinks in the Driftwood had it before him and Ian Yates in the village sold it to Sam. It may be a bit doggy for what you want, I think it is G reg? But may do the job?

yeah i know the one, not too doggy for me but maybe a bit for ella! i'm hopefully looking at a 06 xt125r for her this weekend which are quite well priced and i rekon might be what she needs, but we'll see what we come up with. i'll talk to her about it though, hows it mechanically, if its sound and cheap i reckon it is still an option though, that and its local too.

Maybe she could have a go, its really only for the test herself then she will probably get something a little bigger.

    Cheers

i'll be down in a few weeks hope to see you then too!

Cheers Bigrog, his mum left me a message earlier i'll give her a call back after i speak to ella. We have fount a 57 plate one just up the road from her for sale too which she will look at first with 3000 mies on the clock but obviously more expensive but it gives her a chance to have a look and see if she likes it too. I'll let you know how it goes.

    thanks again!
