Re: Left hand drive Land Rover

you'll have a hard job find anything like that!.... maybe an old lightweight kicking about but not much else.

Later (non Series) builds are easy to convert from RHD to LHD or look for a santana 88 (clone) out in spain.

If you want advice on doing a 90, 110 RRC or Disco LHD conversion just PM us as we did this for both the MOD and Foreign Office along with other mods on contract for a few years.

There are hundreds of LHD ex military for sale from the surplus brokers, but there won't be anything pre 1979 . Unless your very lucky and get that ex RAF bird scarer, with under 10k Kilometers on the clock, thats been sitting forgotten in the back of a hanger in Cyprus or somewhere simmilar with a dry heat climate.
    2011 Triumph Tiger 800 - "Black Pussy" - MMMM Nice !!!

Re: Left hand drive Land Rover

withams are asking £2600 for normally asthmatic '86 90 ragtop...

if your buying a 90, buy a mot failure and rebuild it, you can have a new 90 for £2600!!!

any reason why he wants a series?...

    -likes going 30mph,
    -being shaken to bits
-has a passion for rattles and whines that block out the radio on full volume

    tick as required ????

    Not forgetting !!

    - welly boots required to drive it in the rain
    - oilskin jacket required to drive it in the rain
    - Harley Street chyropracter on speed-dial
    - a sheepskin driveway , because you'll be lying on it so much!!
    - and a "buttplug" to assist with the random "will it brake to the right and pull me into the oncoming traffic or brake to the left and wipe out that child on the pavement" moments.

Can you tell I've owned and run 6 landrover products - 2 of which were Series IIIs ??

I guess the masochistic streak may have something to do with being German, but then, some people swear by them, and others like Nicola swears at them.

    Thanks for the replies.

Re: Left hand drive Land Rover

did my apprenticeship piece at Lode Lane on a series 1 (before doing camels/prototypes)
did my driving test in the same '55 series one (many years ago!)
    used a 109,110 and a 130 for work,
owned series I, series IIa, series 3, 90, 110, and range rover
drove/worked on Lightweights and FC's in the TA (RCT/REME)
had P38(supercharged) and disco(supercharged) as company cars ( both were test cars we built for the Police, MOD)..
Owned a major Land Rover tuning company, at one time 7 out the top 10 of the AWDC Land Rovers, were built, maintained or used our parts.
spannered on the Barby/Shots Dakar Discos, Land rover Cyprus disco and 90, won the first Transylvania Trophy, Warn Challenge etc etc etc etc etc.......

and currently building 2 RRC rally raiders and a 6x6 RRC chase truck..... so na they aren't addictive!!

often thought about getting a Series 1 again as they were fun in the summer(and tax exempt etc) as run about round the village but then we have more than enough cars already!
