Hiya.
This is one of those oh-so-slightly annoying adverts as the seller isn't even one hundred percent sure he wants to sell it, but then again I don't know if anyone actually wants to buy it, either - so lets find out...
I've also never sold a bike privately before so please forgive me if I miss something out or breach etiquette in some way. Oh, and I've no idea how much it's worth, either.
If that hasn't put you off entirely then here are the details:
2007 model BMW G650 Xmoto
7000 miles
Full Dealer Service History (just serviced this weekend)
BMW handguards (the larger of the two types available for this model)
BMW plastic bash plate
BMW engine crash bars
BMW front axle crash bobbins
RG Racing rear axle crash bobbins
Touratech extra-large brake pedal ... thing (original comes with bike if you want to re-fit it)
Touratech neoprene velcro-on fork gaiters (can be taken on and off without removing forks)
oh, and a small rubber flap bolted under the number plate to stop rain and road crap flying up off the back wheel.
About the model - short lived BMW super moto - based on the old Rotax engine with a few upgrades, has USD forks adjustable for comp and rebound, sachs rear shock adjustable for pre-load and rebound, small underseat tank, hard seat (hey, it's a supermoto!) excellent brakes, great fun on B roads, absolutely brilliant in urban areas, rubbish on motorways, obviously. (although saying that I went to london and back from Sussex a few times and it was fine, but I don't think you'd want to go too far!)
Can do about 120 miles on a tank but I usually fill up at about 100, as it's easier to remember. Front forks are possibly a little soft if you are a fat bugger like me, but they are adjustable so you can fiddle away until you get it just right. Seat is a bit hard but I like them like that, you may not.
I'm going to try and be as brutally honest as possible, as I would hate to waste anyone's time. So:
The bike is not mint - some tiny chips out of the paint in various places. Photos below. Some very small signs of corrosion on bolt heads, etc. Nothing major.
Front brake cylinder weeps a tiny bit - apparently "they all do that, yeah" say BMW (!) - doesn't actually effect the brakes, or even get onto the paintwork, just thought I ought to mention it.
Currently fitted with some very good Dunlop Sportmax Mutant tyres. I expect the rear will need replacing sooner rather than later.
I wouldn't be surprised if it need new chain and sprocket soon, too, so if you were taking the rear off for a new tyre I'd do that then at the same time.
I did replace the rear cush drive rubbers a couple of hundred miles ago so they should be good for quite a while.
The electronic speedo / instrument cluster has failed and been replaced, so the mileage on it is wrong, but this is noted in the service book/manual. Although the warranty on the bike as a whole is just about to expire, the dealer has promised to extend the warranty on that part by an extra six months, just in case. I can supply the emails and contact details of the dealer (Vines) and the agreement to cover that part to any buyer, obviously.
Right, I think that's everything I can think of off the top of my head. Please do ask if there is anything I have forgotten. Various photos below, hopefully including all the extras and the paint chips, etc.
If those photos don't work the full set with bigger versions is Right Here
I now fully expect to post this and be met with a deafening silence...)
Cheers,
Rodent.
