Varadero seat

The plastic slot bit on the front of my seat base that locates onto the lug on the fuel tank has gradually worn away and obviously been thrapped into position by an uncaring owner (not me!) too many times, it's now too wide meaning the front of the seat doesn't feel as securely locked in as it should.

I've scoured fleabay for a few months without luck, same with breakers, and the usual spares suppliers don't seem to offer seats as an option.

The only alternative I can find is the corbin one, but they want a fortune for it - I'd expect a seat that massages me whilst I'm on it, and makes me a cup of tea when I get off for the price they're asking.

So, if anyone is feeling the need to dispose of a seat suitable for a 1999 carbed vara - ( condition of seat cover/foam irrelevant, mines fine and I'm happy to deal with recovering a base ) then let me know.

Or if you know of somewhere I could try to source one, that I may not know of, again I'd be grateful.

Why not try one of these Pete!!! it cost 200euros but you send your old seat and they send another, iv,e done a post somewhere on here about them but by brain aint in gear yet and can,t remember the company name

Oh that's really tempting looking, topsellerie was the name you meant I take it?

I don't know how they'd feel about me sending them a base that's a bit worn out though, I know they'd expect the cover maybe to be in poor condition - but would they penalise me by holding the base deposit if I send them what they think is a duffer ?

On the other hand they do have one on special offer for 186 euros - looks a lot like yours too.

186 euros is exactly the same as mine plus 14euros post = 200e
The way it works,
You order(186euros+ 14post) pos, more for UK
They send
You then send your old seat( that you have to pay post on cost me 12e)
My plastic locating thing wasn,t all that good either and a couple of rubbers missing(no charge) the seat i got back was second hand but in good condition and what a seat i love it!! comfy lower about an inch and the little back rest thing realy does work OHHH and HWMBO likes it better
