If you look at his profile, at his "friends" section - you'll see (rather appropriately) "manureboots tim has not made any friends yet"
It amused me anyway (but i'm sad!)...
There's a song here somewhere!! 'Shaft - right on'!!!Now I am singing it in my head and can't get it out, what an idiot I am to myself!!!!
I waited until Manureboots's listing ended so as not to give his listing any more exposure than it deserves, after Kitpeds comments I thought I'd give him a go as a potential buyer, if I really was thinking of buying it he would have put me off with his smartypants comments...
Italics are me, blue is him
Hi, am interested in the bike but my worry on a bike of this age is the output shaft like the question someone else has asked, can you add a picture of the output shaft, it's a really easy job to do and will take just a few mins, given that it's a 350 mile round trip for me I really don't think that it's too much to ask (well, that and for a civil non snotty reply!)
read my feedback.
shaft is as new.
if you believe all you read on forums then you also might want to ask about the oxygen content in the rear tyre and that its reckoned that 9/11 was an inside job,
must dash as off to do a 400 mile round trip before breakfast to pick up another toy
(look at time message posted) then off to do 300 miles this afternoon to watch rugby,
So it's a no on the picture front then?
i tell you what, if its worn then i will give you the bike!
If we could make that legally binding then I would come down to check it out but we can't and that coupled with your smartarse comments make me not want to bother
I'm out!
like i give a ****.
Well I don't know about giving a **** but maybe if you had a **** once in a while you'd be a bit more chilled!
being the curious type i yesterday got the spanners out and stripped down the bike to inspect the shaft.
the is no feelable play in the sprocket/shaft but when i removed the sprocket it does show wear of approx 20% on the leading edge of the splines, given that its clearly the original and covered 70,000 miles , i am not at all concerned by this also the seals/bearings appear perfect the chain and sprockets have done a nominal mileage as have the rubber shock absorbers within the back wheel.
all this is probably lost on you as youve probably just spent the entire weekend in a gimp suit!!
Interesting, the only possible way you could know I was suited and booted would be if you were the guy sucking my toes.
i'm glad we cleared that one up!!
best wishes,
tim
My worry is, how did he know!
