    V Strom 650 = Over 70mpg !!!!

I am a bit shocked, i thought that my V Strom 650 was very good on fuel compared to my Old Africa Twin about 45mpg and Varadero 42mpg.

So time to check it, the fuel light had just started flashing, i put in 9.1 litres which is 2 gallons if my maths is right !!! i have now travelled 143 miles at my normal speeds and the Fuel light has just started flashing again.

    143 miles divided by 2 Gallons = 71.5mpg !!!!

A lot of the yanks at ADVrider are getting 60 to 65mpg but on yank Gallons which are smaller than ours.

    I am impressed by this

That's amazing, especially since the WeeStrom is also supposed to be faster then the Honda too.

I think there's a fault in my throttle on my bike, it doesn't seem to get many mpg

i don't want to work it out as i think it would be too painful to find out

....So Suzuki fit the Strom (an 'Adv' touring bike) with a 2 & a bit gallon tank

i am just a tight arse, i only put 2 gallons in for this test, the actual tank size is 22 litres or about 5 gallons the same as the V Strom 1000

Ahhh, thought the Strom would have a bigger tank!

Still, doesn't sound right for the fuel light to come on with 3 gallons of fuel left!

I too am a tight arse but filling up twice as often is not cheaper - it just feels it

The Strom must have one h*ll of a range tho
