Just got a DR350! Amazing bike!

Well after a long time thinking about it I finally got one!

Found this little beast for £800 with 10,000 miles on the clock, 95 reg. What do you think price wise? A bit new to all this bike stuff!

Now as I said I am pretty new to all this infact never really ridden a bike before, but after jumping on it and ragging it around the farm i believe this bike marlarky is for me!!! Booking my bike test for the end of the month!

I wanted to ask a few questions tho.......

Is there any way to add an ignition switch to the bike? Just to make it a bit safer when it is on the road.

Can anyone recommend an all terrain tyre, one that will cope on road and off if there is such a thing!?!

At the moment the bike doesnt seem to have any indicators, nor can i see any switches on the handle bars for them. Do you need indicators for the bike to pass the MOT??
Any advice or help would be awesome!

    Cheers,
    Tim

    Hi Curly,

the reason your bike doesn't have an ignition switch, indicators etc is because it is the 'enduro' version of the DR350.

The 'S' version is the street-legal trail version but don't panic, the prevoius owner has probably made it road legal.

Does it have the V5, has it ever been used on the road?

As for tyres, Continental TKC's are a good road/trail compromise.

    cheers, Bob.

    Cheers for the reply bob!

Yeah it does have a V5 and is currently on SORN, which is good and was just reading a thread saying that if a bike doesnt have indicators then it will still pass an MOT.

Would it be possible to still add an ignition switch? Ive seen some cheap universal ones being sold on ebay. I gather they just cut the electric circuit, not very hard to bypass but it would give a passing thief something more to think about.

Will have a look into those tyres as well!

    Thanks,
    Tim

Cheers phil, can you recommend any good online places to buy tyres from?? I take it will be much cheaper to buy them online and fit them yourself? I gather its not that hard if you have the knack!

Buy the best quality knack you can, it does make a difference.

I use Busters Busters Accessories - Home for my tyres and fit them myself, I find them to be the cheapest around and they carry most tyres in stock or get them very quickly.

I have just bought a DR350 (my third time), they are an excellent dual-purpose bike
