This 650 V Strom is just Superb

I have had my wee strom for nearly 1 year, what a truly superb bike.

When i first had it i did not like the wind buffeting so a quick read of Adventure Rider came up with the American Madstad bracket cost about 60 pounds and i have used it with the standard screen, Perfect no buffeting and great wind protection.

Next i felt the front forks were the weak spot, so back to adventure Rider and they reccomended Sonic 0.9kg Springs cost 55 pounds and a Murphs Fork brace cost about 70 pounds. Fitted these and WOW like a different bike.

I also fitted a set of standard Renthal bars and i swapped my DL650 seat for the DL1000 seat. This seat is more padded and has a higher seat height, definetly more comfy.

I had an RD04 Africa Twin and an XL1000V Varadero before this bike.

The Africa Twin was a really great bike, but it had a poor seat and was a bit limited with power. The Varadero solved the seat and power problem but was very heavy.

The V Strom is lighter than the Africa Twin, handles like a sports bike, but feels as comfy and nearly as powerful as the Varadero and also does 60mpg !!!!. Fantastic engine really smooth and powerful, very sweet.

It is also well built not as good as my RD04 Africa Twin but probably better than the Varadero, i have ridden it all winter and it looks really good

Fantastic bike, really impressed, will be keeping this for a few more years, but that KTM 990 Adventure................. !!!!!!!!!!

    Glad you like it.
The problem with changing bikes is you are never sure if it is going to work out.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

I'd agree that it's a great road bike but far too fragile for any off-roading
