    XL700V Transalp review

Hope I don't get my wrists slapped for doing this but here you go anyway!

Best to save the pics to your computer and view in something that can magnify!!

Oh and I know its iritating for those without mahooooooosive screens but I've left them big deliberately.

Sorry no scanner so you'll have to make do with pics!

(Mod bods You can read the full pages of whole review when zoomed in on my computer but they are loosing resolution when hosted. I have the pics on my computer if you can host the originals somewhere for me. I'll stick em in albums and see if that works for now. Nope that didn't work!)

    Transalp only:

    Re: XL700V Transalp review

I had a little test ride on the 700 TA on Friday 10th July.

I have to say I was very impressed. I used to run a 650 TA and I loved it, I just felt it lacked a bit of power when two up and fully loaded. The new TA is only 30 CCs bigger , but seems like a massive increase in power. It feels like it could do with a 6th gear (same problem on the 650) , but I enjoyed the ride. The one I rode had 6000+ miles on it and fitted with new Tourances , I guess the OE "deathwings" had expired. The bike felt really planted and handled well , better than the 650 , but I may be looking at it unfairly, as my 650 had loads of gear fitted that may have altered the handling and the 700 was in standard trim.

Did I enjoy it enough to swap the mighty KTM990 for one ??
    2011 Triumph Tiger 800 - "Black Pussy" - MMMM Nice !!!
    2000 Suzuki DRZ400S - "Ol' Yella" - very bright
    2011 Peugeot V-Clic 50cc - "Scoot" - It's my wife's, an enjoyable ride.

    I have a house , but I can't guarantee it's safe !!
