    600TA air filter

I was in our local Honda shop today ordering a new throttle tube for my '99 600TA, and thought I may as well get a couple of oil and air filters, so I can do a service on the thing, and still have a set in stock for next time.

Throttle tube was about £14. Fair enough.
Oil filters were about £7 each. OK.
Air filters were over £40 each. Yep. Four-Zero.

Who the hell pays £40 for an air filter, let alone a diddy one for a bike, and a paper one at that!???

Think I'll be investigating the K&N options then....

Forgot to post on this thread too, but PDQ sell K&N filters for 'em for £38.38 inc VAT.

Have found a K&N on ebay for $40.... but shipping is $49!!!

Are there really idiots out there paying these prices???

I got an aftermarket filter including metal plate for £20 from a local motor factor. Been fitted 6 month no problem.

Darlington Motor Factors. PM for phone number.

That's very kind of you, but I can't see the point in spending more than a tenner on a disposable filter, when I can get a cleanable one for less than £40!!

    Fair point

Let us know how you get on. Should think the K&N is better anyway.

I've gone and ordered the K&N from B&C express, along with a K&N cleaner kit, because the K&N in my XR650 could do with a clean out before it goes to the dyno in a couple of weeks.

Will let you know how it works out.
