    Swinging arm Chain Slider

Has anyone done a 'how to' and what is involved? I have heard that it is swing arm off, to get this fitted.

yes, in my limited knowledge, you have to remove the swing arm to replace the chain slider.

Yes it needs removing but it's an opportunity to re-grease the s-arm & linkage bearings. Get a Haynes manual from Halfords if you fancy having a go. The slider wraps around the front of the arm and the 'top & bottom runs' are joined by a strip that bolts to the side of the arm, so unless you cut it it's a complete rear end strip.

Not too difficult a job gettin the Swing Arm out
Remove Rear Wheel and unhhok the rear brake hose from the swing arm.
Disconnect the lower shock mount bolt and the rising linkage pivot block good time to check the bearings and regrease them.
Remove the Swing arm pivot bolt - usually a combination of gently tapping it and turning the bolt will ease it through the frame , swing arm and engine.
Remove chain slider and fit new one - grease swing arm bearings and pivot bolt.

Re-assemble using a torque wrench on the main suspension bolts.

Thanks for that. Are there modified sliders around that are more hardened than the originals? Main stealer quoted 40ish gbp for one. I would rather pay more and get the right one!

Does anyone have the torque wrench settings for these bolts?

    Re: Swinging arm Chain Slider

I manage it with removing swingarm put the slider in bioling water for 10mins and with a screw driver you can ease it round the arm from the top using chain as guide

While the thing is apart check the bearings and replace or repack with grease before reassembly.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE
