    Fuel Tap

Hello all you TA chappies and Chappesses?
Doing a bit of a projet on my AT, first step is to fit a TA petrol tank, which I have done, however the tap that came with it appears to have a vacuum take off on it, so simple question, where do I stick it? does it go back to one of the cylinder inlets i.e. to the same place as a scottoiler would? or somewhere else?

p.s. Mabel, please change your avatar back to the Carry On Doctor one

    Dilbert,

yeah it need to go on a vacuum take-off. You should be able to share the connection with the scotoiler who provide Tee-piece to do this.

Hi Chris, yes I know it sounds weird and kinda freakish, but see this thread for what I'm trying to do

Looking back through some old threads it seems I'm not alone, looks like young Jenna was after doing something similar too?

Anyhoo, someone came back with a suggestion for a gravity fuel tap off another model with a reserve, any ideas ??

    Hi Dilbert,

Mine's a 600TA tank and it's just a gravity tap, ditched the fuel pump that the AT had as the tap is plenty high enough. Works just fine, no reserve but I might try and fit a lower feed for one later but it's way down the list.

    Cheers

    Ben

Yeah I'm in the same boat having also ditched "that pump" and fitted a TA tank to my RD03, however the tap I have ('88 TA) appears to have a vacuum take off and I was thinking of replacing this with a gravity only one, but you've prompted another query now, does the tap work without the vacuum take off connected? and if so what's the point having it?
