    Headlight beam pattern

    HI,

I have just done a massive night ride
    http://www.xrv.org.uk/phpBB2/viewtop...?p=66360#66360

At first I thought I was suffering from a lack of horses compared to the Busa's, fireblades and other 1l + sports bikes. But no, I could happliy leave them for standing in the corners (go Transalp!) But I could not keep up with them when we hit left handers I was going blind... The high beam is great but the low beam seems to be pointing the wrong way...?

In NZ we drive on the left like the you guys back home in the UK. I have been told I have a "euro spec" bike which favours neither left or right hand drive. But the beam pattern just seems wrong for riding on the left, as it goes up to the right...

Do you in the UK have the same pattern & has anyone noticed the problem? Can anyone clarify please?

    Vertical

    On side stand

    Same lean but to right

    Cheers

Yep that's a beam pattern for riding on the right (correct ) side of the road allright, looks like you need a different headlight.

After Honda NZ swearing blue in the face that I had the correct light, I get a tail between legs call saying the headlight should have been changed before delivery, and to expect a call from my local bike shop when the new light arrives

After riding through the night, some of it in crap weather, on the 1000 miler. I really didn't think the lights were too bad.

Once I realised what the problem was I switched sides of the road for a few corners in the twisties and set the beam to low and there was no problem seeing, I could still keep up a reasonable pace.

The main beam is actually quire good compaired to my old F650. I had to be going really very fast indeed for me to start to run out of high beam. Low beam I have yet to test properly on the left side of the road.
