    Handlebar Risers

I have a 99 TA and when I stand up on the pegs the bar is a little too far away for comfort. Has anyone fitted bar risers and how high can you go before the control cables are too tight?

I was thinking of getting some 25mm ones.

I don't think you can go very high without new brake/clutch cables, but all the electrics/throttle etc will stretch OK (Well, they did on mine...). Its a good excuse to put braided hose on the front - try Earls for about £35 at 4" overlength, and any good bike shop can make up a new oversize clutch cable, probably less than £20 if you take the current 1 in and ask for 4" over!

I've stuck very high, Renthal playbike bars (£30) on mine, too short in the width, but everything fits, if you ignore the last inch of just air inside the 'grips!! They are very comfy when standing, and don't cause any hassle in normal use, don't foul plastics/tank etc.

On the AT I have been led to believe you can raise the bars by 25mm without changing the hoses, may be wrong though. It may be same on the Alp, but I'm sure a knowledgable type will correct me!

I remember john aka wheelie bin had to fit an africa twin speedo cable when he jacked his ta up in a big way. he doesn't frequent these forums as often as he once did but if you pay a visit to www.techtransalp.co.uk send him a message, I'm sure he would be able to tell you all you need to know and how's the best way to do it.

I've fitted S.W. Motech risers on my @ They go up 30mm and back 25mm they were a straight fit, didn't have to change any lines.
Together with modified seat makes the bike super comfortable.
Chad and Fish saw them on the East Anglian rideout. In fact Fish was so impressed when he tried it he offered to buy the bike there and then.
