Any body used good muddy/slippy tyres?

I need a new rear tyre for muddy use. Any one got good experiences of the Desert, MT21, Karoo or similar?
Currently on a slick TKC80, is good alround, but I fancy a more mud biased tyre, and I'm not too worried about wear rates, any thing over 1000 miles will be OK! (TKC done just about 4000, not legal any more!)

In an ideal world, I'd have a 18" rear wheel, so could fit a range of enduro rubber.

I was impressed by T63s on a Dominator, but expensive and not good on the road. That wasn't in real gloop though. What is your normal mud like (e.g., heavy sticky clay, slippery chalky slurry, loamy stuff etc. - I'm guessing it's more clay based on the fact you made the raised mudguard mod, which is, as we know, a must for anything stickier than dry sand!). I'd be interested to see how MT21s pan out - would the TA weight and 'power' be a problem for the knobs on the road?

I wouldn't trust most knobs on the road with anything more than a tricycle...

    kings tyres

if you are going off road a lot try to get hold of a kings rear tyre I had a set in an XL600 for trail riding knobbly pattern and highway legal good ware rate and just this side of being road legal
a supper cheep option (I am not using them on the road officer) is to get a second hand MX tyre and grind off the Not for highway use bit with a dremmel
