    Possible spotlight option

Found these via a thread on Adv.Riders. Small, neat HID spotlamps that draw only 13 watts. A couple of guys on Adv.Riders have them on Wee-Stroms, and seem fairly impressed.

I've emailed the suppliers, and will keep y'all posted.

OH yes DS , let us know how you get on. I've been looking for some auxiliary lights for a while. More to "be seen" than "see" and these look like they might fit the bill , should be bright enough with a low power draw and with the blue covers on THEY might think your a copper when THEY see you filtering in THEIR mirrors !! just a wee added bonus perhaps ???
    2011 Triumph Tiger 800 - "Black Pussy" - MMMM Nice !!!
    2000 Suzuki DRZ400S - "Ol' Yella" - very bright
    2011 Peugeot V-Clic 50cc - "Scoot" - It's my wife's, an enjoyable ride.

    I have a house , but I can't guarantee it's safe !!

Had a look on the website, they seem kinda expensive, $350.25 with shipping and that doesn't include the covers, maybe we could work out a group deal ?

I have got some "Ring" branded mini fog lamps fitted to my TA crash bars. The 1st set got I managed to crack a lens and after 3 bulbs in a few weeks decided it would be cheaper to get another set - £19.99 and 5 minutes to fit as all the wiring is in place.

They don't send out a beam as such as they are "sub-bumper fog lamps" but they do help with visibility a lot. I run them all the time and even with heated grips on as well don't have battery problems. I have however replaced clock lights and the side light with LEDS to try and save a little on wattage draw. Also looking for an LED to replace rear light bulb.

These trail tech one's look good but pricey especially as the lights are likley to vulnerable in the smallest of offs and attractive to petty thieves.

I appreciate they are not exactly bargain basement material, but I ride a lot at night along country roads and lanes. So I want light. Lots of it. Searing, bright, white, focussed, far-reaching light, so the cursed badgers can do the outta-the-way-mofo dash for home thing while I'm still 100m away, not 30m. But I'm also a wuss these days, and therefore have to have my electric jacket liner nice and toasty on a cold winters night (if you've never tried one, it's an absolute joy. But I digress). Not to mention the heated grips. So the possibility of something that can throw out lots of light at minimal expense in terms of wattage sounds good to me!

A while ago I read a test of a 6 D-cell Maglite that had been converted to LED using the LED for the 4D model. If you ziptie 2 of those to the crashbars you'll be shining bright enough to burn the paint off a volvo.
