Anyone recognise this bit of rubber??

I was getting the bike ready for winter - thoroughly hosed it down then liberally applied a can of wd40 and half a can of acf50 along with half a tub of lm grease, and whilst tidying up found the above offending item on the floor

It's a little block of rubber and looks like it might have had a glue of some sort oin one side and I 'THINK' it might have come off the centre stand, as it looks like it might fit on the little knobbly bit that folds up when the stand is up and rests just under the exhaust box thingy (sorry, I'm not being too technical for ya am I? but I think you'll know the bit I mean) but I'm not sure.

If it is off there then I've lost the other one as there seems to be two little knobbly bits that could take a rubber pad.

(sorry about the poor quality - taken with the mobile).

    Anyone got any idea?

    thanks

    tom

    Probably

This reminds me, if you fancy a bit of fun, squirt a small pool of oil under a parked bike and put a bolt in it. If the rider doesn't notice it, point it out to them, with a worried look

    Hmmmm?
My centrestand is a bare metal to metal contact. The only other homes for your item I can think of are -

On the sides of the tank at the bottom there is a glued-on thin block where it meets the fairing.

Behind the clock surround on the top of the front subframe there are 2 blocks about the same size. From memory I think they had a slot along the side to push-fit them.

I would say they sit on the top of the fuel tank where the fairing overlaps, mine fell off when I removed the fairing the other day, I think they glue them on with a Pritt Stick at the factory

    Many thanks for the replies.

Had a closer look in the daylight and it does look like its come off the left lower side of the tank where it laps with the fairing. Theres a mark there about the same shape as the block of rubber.

Will get a bit of superglue in the week and stick it back there.

    Cheers all

    tom
