    i made a grease gun

i've always wanted to be able to get a nice blob of grease on cables and pivots without getting it everywhere else, i decided i wanted a grease gun.
cheapest was around 8 quid, i only do basic maintainance on the bike and thought that was too much.

after some thought it came to me
A solder sucker AKA a desoldering pump,I had one lying around, loaded it with grease (this is the messy bit) and off i went, it self seals itself also, as it sucks back when you let go of the plunger.

possibly the cheapest grease gun going and very useful.

hope this helps some of you improve maintainance time and save some cash

2007 Varadero XLV1000. Now you're torquing but sadly gone to another forum member. One of the best bikes - period.

Outside a great restaurant just about to be entered, in Natal SA overlooking the Valley of a Thousand Hills, in blazing sunshine, clutching my jackpot winning lottery ticket, sitting in the saddle of my TA, with wife on the back.

Wifey is about so this is my official version.

On the subject of Maplins, I've always thought their catalogue a great read.
Just under £4. Better than anything from WHS.
