    Baglux Tank Cover

Has anyone else found that these obstuct the handlebars and prevent the locking of the steering, or is it just because mine is new and needs stretching?

I am a little disappointed having spent £70 to protect my gleeming tank only to find that I have increased the risk of losing the whole bike!

Any suggestions so that I can have the best of both worlds would be appreciated.

Yes, I have that trouble, phoned Baglux & guess what? '...never had that before....'

It is made much worse with a bolt on bar brace too, twisting the front left, plastic lug to one side allows the steering lock to be used.

I have to say I haven't noticed this particular problem - the brace bolt does just touch the left plastic clip on the tank when Im locking it up at night - but I ride it every day with the citybag attached to the tank and/or the honda barbag attached to the brace, and Ive never noticed it an issue - but then I cant think when I last did a full lock to full lock turn.

Update: E-mailed Baglux to complain. They have replied saying that they were unaware of problem and have requested that I send photos that they will forward to manufacturer. May they might do something for future version and hopefully send me a revised version!

I will let you know of result.

Funny, they told me that they had never had a problem. I suggested moving the front lugs slightly, Baglux said that the lugs were in the correct position for the bags & couldn't be moved!!!

Let me know how you get on, might be time to complain again!!!

    Re: Baglux Tank Cover

Have just e-mail photos to Baglux and advised them that this thread is running and that others have previously notified them of the problem. I have also requested them to tell me what they propose to do about it.

    The saga continues....

    Re: Baglux Tank Cover

My Baglux tank cover for my 600TA was too tight....The side straps simply were too short, (even after warming everything up), I broke them.......Sent it back to Baglux who repaired them as they had no others in stock. They made them slightly longer and the cover went on easily...

    Cheers

    Re: Baglux Tank Cover

    Phil,

I have rec'd a reply to my photos from baglux and they confirm that they were not aware of any problems. They are contacting the manufacturers with the details and will let me know.

They were interested to know who you contacted so I suggest you e-mail them through the website, my contact has been with Melvina Gowing.

It sounds as if they genuinely want to help and have appreciated the information.

    Re: Baglux Tank Cover

I sent a fairly detailed & 'firm' (ahem) email to Melvina Gowing at Baglux last week. This evening a reply came back saying....

"We have had a reply from Bagster regarding the front clips on the 650
Transalp tank cover - see below"

"This is known by our technician and the solution is that the customer
adjusts a little bit the handlebars, undo the screws and push the
handlebars a bit towards the front.

It is not possible to move the clips on the tank cover towards the rear
because then it would be impossible to put a bag on the cover."

    Re: Baglux Tank Cover

    Phil,

Just checked my mails & guess what, same response!

I have replied stating my disappointment but I doubt anything further will come of it. I have suggested that the product is not 'fit for purpose' because I was not advised that moving the handlebars from factory settings would be necessary.

No offer of refund was made which I thought would have been the very least!
