    Continental Escape Tyres

I thought I'd mention that I had a set of these fitted today. Absolutely brilliant. I normally hate having new tyres fitted on wet days but the Contis were really confidence inspiring even in this rubbish weather.
Highly recommended based on todays findings.
My dad has them on his 650 Dakar and also rates them highly.

£106 fitted and balanced, ride in ride out, which sounded reasonable. Went for a 130/80/17 not a 120/90/17 that was fitted previously.

Went out in the rain today on the GS with Mrs Flip in tow on the Transalp. She has commented that the bike is completely different to ride, tips in smootly, holds it's line very easily and has renewed her enjoyment of the bike. Not a bad result for the money then. Scrubbed in easily and handled the rain superbly.
Better than tourances on the Tranalp. I have Tourances on the GS and they are great, but the Contis whoop their ass on the Transalp wet and dry.

I also had Tourances on my TransAlp and although they are better than the "Deathwings", they were not all that great on the Alp. The Alp does not have a large footprint at the best of times so your choise of tyre for her bike makes sense.

You goin to the roast this weekend?

Unfortunately we aren't going to the HogRoast

Really like a bit of piggy too.

Seem to be gigging all the time with the bands at the mo so finding time to stay away is difficult.

Got Tourances on my TA at the moment, but may try the Continental next time... they were on the TA when I bought it but pretty worn, so didn't get a chance to rate them. Sound good...

Well it's certainly be slightly damp here of late, so they're sounding better all the time

My current pair of Tourances still with 2mm tread F&R after 16,000 miles Can't say I have ever had a complaint about them, so will probably replace like for like - unless someone can persuade me otherwise.
2001 Transalp XLV650. Faithful old friend still chugging away nearly 100,00miles
2007 Varadero XLV1000. Now you're torquing but sadly gone to another forum member. One of the best bikes - period.
Yamaha XT660r - slowly getting it ready for some big adventures
