    I like Transalps

I had to ride my wifes 650 Transalp the other day. Two up. I thought it would be a bit naff but whoa was I wrong.
Recently fitted Wilbers progressive fork springs with 10W oil. Wow what a difference. Goes exactly where you point it, really smooth over bumps, no buffeting (larger Honda screen) and super comfy.
I have a 1150GS BMW and in alot of ways the Honda beats it by a mile.

Just thought I'd let you know

I used to have an 1150GS too (great bike but heavy and too much unsprung mass at the rear), then a 1200GS (horrible in so many ways) and I'd agree that in a lot of ways (most ways?) the TA has them beaten. Just another 10lbs-ft and 10bhp and it would be REALLY good.

Most days I ride to work two-up on the TA. This week I'm on my own and I'm having great fun - when you're used to the performance two-up, riding solo is a pleasant surprise and the bike can really be thrown around.

No the BM is brilliant!!! It handles well it is quick enough and it is a hoot to ride. The Transalp though is as stable as the BM, is quicker turning, comfier and much smoother on the suspension (goes well too if ya thrap it!!!!). I'd still choose the BM for blade baiting but for long distance touring I would probably go for the Transalp. The bugger is that the Transalp is Mrs Flips and I've got the Bm for our trip to the south of spain.
I have the far superior 1150 model, not the 1200 which I just can't get on with.
