H4 HID installation

Just fitted a H4 HID kit to Mrs Flips Transalp. It's the telescopic version but it is a 50W version with a mini ballast from a good friend of mine.
So far the results are brilliant but will have to wait until tonight before I really know.
I may well tell you where to get them for a special price, but not until I know they are 100%.
Best of all is you don't need to change any of the standard wiring, a 2 hour job (to do it neatly and properly).
So that's the teaser, anybody interested

Not now fella, it's all fitted and you can't see any of it!!!

The new ballasts are 10mm thick, 5 inches long and 3.5 inches wide approx. They are so small, fitted it behind the dash cover but there was room for 3 of em in there.
will try to get piccies of the lights when it's dark for ya.

Just been outside and tested it

Not absolutely perfect but 100 x better than standard bulbs. can't get piccies cause I can't be arsed but if you see a black Transalp 650 with ferkin bright headlight in the lakes tomorrow wave at Mrs Flip.

Worth doing IMHO.

Cost will be competitive, but unknown as I have a different kit to try first which may prove to be better. The mini ballast is 50W!!!

I may well offer to do a fitting service or just help out where required but anyone who wants really good lights needs to go HID. Will give more info in the next couple of weeks as the other kit has twin filaments on the one bulb. I've tried these before but they weren't too good. The problem was the setting of the bulbs which kicked the light off to the left and the pause between lo fillament and the high beam fillament.
The new design looks better designed for light focus and I think I have sussed how to run both lo and high beam fillaments on high to give awesome light output without chopping the standard wiring loom.

That can be arranged. Telescopic with 50w mini ballast no problem. The H4 twin fillament may be a bit harder due to space required for 4 ballasts and the associated wiring. It can be done. Will find out cost and get back to you.

I take it this is a DIY conversion, using a balast for each filiment ?
