    Crash/engine bars

Can anyone recomend some of the above for my 07 TA ? My local dealer supplied and tried to fit a Givi set but they really didn't fit very well and hampered the main stand so we sent them back, any guidence would be much appreciated.
    Tony.

I got the SW-Motech bars from BykeBitz. They're quite neat, seem solid enough to save the plastics in a drop, and went on easily enough (once i'd downloaded Severs "howto" guide from this very forum).

I have some Givi Bars on order for a 2003 TA. Does anyone else have them fitted with a honda center stand.

I don't understand how the crash bars might foul the centre stand.

I am sure Phil had a set on his bike with a honda centre stand.

    Re: Crash/engine bars

I,ve got Givi bars on mine (2001 650) and a centre stand (not a Honda one - I think it's an SW Motech) and it all fits just fine.
I believe there used to be an issue with Givi bars/centre stands but that was to do with the length of the bolt they supplied and that's now been dealt with (check Givi website).

    Re: Crash/engine bars

No probs with interference between the Givi's & the centre stand.

The holes needed filing quite a bit to get them to fit properly, centre stand needs removing/refitting to fit the Givi bars too (PITA...) Also the mounting brackets for the bars bend very easily (damaging the fairing - what they are there to protect!!!)

If buying again I'd probably go for SW Motechs.

    Re: Crash/engine bars

Although some people feel the need to read the guide wot I wrote, it's actually very easy to fit the SW Motech bars; it just takes a while. Keep a whole afternoon free.

I've dropped my TA on both sides at a standstill and low speed and the bodywork is still unmolested. The paint on the bars is quite tough too.

If enough people in the UK buy Motech bars, the manufacturer might publish proper English instructions!
