    Givi soft luggage frame

Does anyone have or know of a picture of the frame rails that Givi offer for the TA to use with soft luggage.

I know the PL frames work well with soft luggage but I'm looking for something a little less obvious.

I knocked up a frame out of 15mm plumbing, painted it black. Looks ok and seems to do the job with oxford panniers. If you are interested I will send Photos.

Is that 15mm copper? If it is, be aware that vibration work hardens copper quite quickly. It then cracks. It is the reason that copper is not used for bike bits. Shame really because copper chromes beautifully.

The 15mm plastic plumbing may be worth consideration

That's interesting. I didn't know that. Does the same happen to aluminium?

    Re: Givi soft luggage frame

I agree about it going brittle and have had the frame on for a year now waiting for it to fail, I thought it would but so far ok.

    Now for the pics.

Actually I don't know how to get pics on here.

Ok, the insert pic doesn't work.

I have 3 pics on my hard drive, how do I get them on the post?

The rag covering the numberplate is to stop the flash reflecting.

They are not very big but that is the limit. I am sure I have seen bigger pics than that.
If you want them bigger, tell me how ?

    Re: Givi soft luggage frame

I just thought to mention, the main weight of the oxford panniers is taken over the seat, the frame is only meant to keep the panniers off the exhaust and out of the wheel.
If you hang panniers off the rack, I would expect it to fail fairly quickly for the afrore mentioned reason.
