    Brake Light

    Morning All,

Should my brake light work from the front brake on my '92 600...

I can hear switch clicking and it's working OK on the back.

    Common fault??

    Thanks Kevin

Yes Cabby - your brake light has to illuminate from the operation of either brake.
    2011 Triumph Tiger 800 - "Black Pussy" - MMMM Nice !!!
    2000 Suzuki DRZ400S - "Ol' Yella" - very bright
    2011 Peugeot V-Clic 50cc - "Scoot" - It's my wife's, an enjoyable ride.

    I have a house , but I can't guarantee it's safe !!

Yes this is a very common fault, I've seen three bikes with this fault so far this year, the problem is that the switch on the front brake lever is exposed to the elements and if/when moisture finally penetrates the switch, the contacts in the unit get corroded and stop working, you will still here the click of the micro switch when you pull the brake lever, but the unit is shagged and needs to be replaced, the only upside is that replacing the switch is not difficult to do and the unit itself is fairly cheap at 7 quid from Dave Silver for the genuine replacement.
