    alp to at

anyone here make the switch from alp to at.i'd consider it if it helped to cut down the noise from the screen.

I've tried the honda tall screen and my new puig screen, both superb,I find with a good set of earplugs the noise is reduced dramatically.

there is a givi touring screen on my alp,but i think a lower screen would generate less noise.i agree that ear plugs do cut the noise level v much, but i wondered if the screen on an at generated more or less noise than an alp.

maybe less noise but the buffeting is heavey with a low screen, try taking the givi off and go for a good ride screenless, there's not much difference between low and no screen.
I've done 300 miles low screen and was knackered, did 250 with tall screen no probs at all.

I posted the other day about High, standard and a cut down screens I have tried. Current fave is the cut down one which is about as noisy as the high screen when wearing ear plugs. But, the low screen does give a lot of buffeting and at higher speeds (80-90+mph for 40 miles on motorway) the other day left me knackered and getting a stiff neck.

I absolutely hate earplugs so I don't think the high screen is for me (and it creates a vacuum just in front at low speeds making it hard to breathe), so, I will probably go back to the standard screen before long as it is the best compromise.

I sometimes think Honda know what they are doing with these bikes (other times I really think they look in the parts bin and just throw bikes together).

myscreen is flexible enough for me to be able to pull it back towards me,thus lowering it.when i do so the noise level goes down greatly

For me at 5' 9" the RD07a was massively quieter in terms of wind noise than my XL600VR - not sure what the 650s are like. The screen is one of the better parts of the AT, though the TA fairing seemed better at directing air away from my legs. Hope that helps.

try this screen, I dunno who is making 'em but works fine for me. Have you tried a better helmet. Some helmets are more noicy than others...
