Remember that the amount of fork oil is dependant to if you did a full strip-down and can be different than if you're just changing the fork oil. Normally it's best to find the "distance from top of stanchion" figure which is a lot more accurate.

Cheers Kymmy haynes states 141mm so giving it 140mm to be sure, rather have it stiffer than softer.

Sod's law means it will be each, so you have to buy 2 seperate litre bottles for the extra 84cc.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

Which model Transalp? 650 or 600? Sounds like per leg to me. Make sure you get the airgap right.....600 is 125mm from top of stanchion with fork fully compressed and springs out!

    Re: Fork Oil

That volume of oil is definitely per leg, but as Kymmy implied you might get away with half a litre in each if you haven't done a complete strip-down. Having said that I've just changed the oil on a pair of used 650 forks and did have to break into the third bottle.

If you can measure it accurately to 140mm why not do it to 141 instead (if it's a 650)? Honda spend a lot of time and money getting these things right so unless you intend to use the bike for purposes other than those it was designed for (whatever that might be) or have experience in damping adjustment you're better off sticking with the recommended figures.
