Thumbs up Grave - Dural kryt pod motor - Engine Guard

I have just fitted a Grave engine guard to the TA. It looks great and will do the job of protecting the water pump and engine back to the stands. Manufacture/delivery a few weeks. Cost 6,200 CzKr i(150GBP) including delivery via DHL. No Grave PayPal account yet and Barclays charge 20GBP to transfer monies to a Czech account. See the photos and judge for yourself.

I really like the look of the Grave sump guard, I looked into purchasing one a while back (the postage put me off), still tempted tho

    Phil,

If there was enough interest I would look into say, ordering and distributing 5 Grave engine guards and this would save high postage costs (duralum is light) and only one bank transfer fee. Anyone interested?

Re: Grave - Dural kryt pod motor - Engine Guard

Does anyone know how the Grave engine guards compare with the Touratech equivilent, I'm in the market to buy one of these fairly soon, but at €222 (and probably higher delivery costs to here), the Grave unit is considerably more expensive than the Touratech (€169 delivered). But if the quality is higher, then I would be very interested.

I have just fitted my bike with a sump guard and crash bars and decided to go for SW Motech as they do both and that way I knew they would both fit. No problems with fitting and everything looks strong. If your are going off road a good sump guard is a must as the original plastic guard is not very stong and most of the engine is exposed, including the water pump.
I got mine parts from Calamander ask for Sean.

Excellent point Steve, never thought about that, I have Touratech crash bars fitted and never considered the fact that a different manufacturers sump guard may not be compatible with the bars. Unlike just about everyone else on this forum, I have had a really good experience with Touratech, for example I couldn't find a small bag of special size screws when fitting my Zetec panniers last weekend, emailed Touratech and two days later a package arrived with a full set of screws, free of charge, cannot fault them for service and quality.

No, my 'Alp already has TT bars and I was interested in the group deal for the Grave engine guard tha Mark was looking at organising, but as Steve pointed out, if you mix parts from manufacturers, there's no guarantee that they won't affect each other when you go to fit them.

most people had a look at my graves bars at the meet, very good quality, very strong and judging by the little bit of scratching and nothing else well worth the investment after my 3 drops(one quite major)
