    Hi all
I,m a new member from Anglesey North Wales, also ride trail bikes with the TRF, have an 07 250 Serow, previous bikes CRM250, XR250, DR400s, TS185.
I just picked up an 03 TA on wednesday, arrived home late so left it on the trailer securely chained up, had a great day putting a few miles on it around the lanes here on anglesey yesterday, decided to bring it into the conservatory last night. (Previous bikes slim enough to fit through the door to my stone store/barn ) 3 temporary ramps later... it went quite easily.
This morning the conservatory smells of petrol, no apparent leaks, so took the TA out, managed to drop it very gently on its side (not used to the weight). petrol poured out of the filler cap area. I have dropped lots of trail bikes over the years, there seemed to be a lot more petrol comeing out, anybody know if this is just how it is, or do I need to replace the fuel cap rubber seal?
I plan to widen the door to my store/barn but as the wall are 2 feet thick it is a bit of a job.
Another Question -anybody used the Givi rep 50l top boxes on ebay from TQ motorcycles? seem like good value.
    Cheers Ratcatcher

Firstly welcome, I assume it's raining there .

I've not dropped my AT yet, but I've laid under my DR many times and how much fuel leaks out seems to depend on how full the tank is, very full, lots everywhere, half or below and nothing seems to come out except through the breather perhaps.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

The TA filler cap has never been 100% leakproof mate. Since the tank it's considerably bigger than any dirt bike it appears to be leaking much more. Save the money and enjoy the ride.
About top boxes: don't know about this seller but I have a 50 liters Givi topbox myself. If you fit it with the optional top rack it will really have an enormous capacity, just be sure to check the locking plate from time to time (they are not made of the most solid plastic around).

    Welcome to the forum

My last (03) transalp spent quite a bit of time on it's side (I'm not very good off-road) and I've never noticed fuel leaking from it.

In fact at the Stella a couple of years ago I dropped the poor thing an embarassing six times, after the first few times I wasn't in a rush to pick it up again, was knackered.

    Hey,
Mine gets tired and has the odd lay down too, but seems not to leak when it does. (Even when the tank is pretty full.)
