    Arrow exhaust install (pics).....

Here are the pics (fingers crossed).

    The old tired oe exhaust

Holed in the clamp area - possibly blocked drain hole? The old one literally fell off due to the clamp being completely rusted through!

It was an absolute doddle to fit, and very well made. The rubber on the mounting strap being the only hard bit (ended up cutting it to length). The end result looks superb (imho) however it is a very tight fight with minimal clearance in some areas!

The sound may be slightly different than stock but I can't tell to be honest.

    Very pleased with it though.

*edit* rode it 23 miles into work this morning and thought I could smell burning plastic! On inspection all seems fine. I may be wrong but the midrange seems to be improved, 3k to 5k seems much sweeter and punchier. It looks better anyway, with less of the rear wheel covered.

It looks a much tigher fit against the side panel than mine, but I have the complete system rather than using the OE front section so maybe this makes a difference to the position of the down pipe. Did you fit the aluminium tube between the strap and the frame as per the instructions?

Re the burning smell I had that too when I'd first fitted mine - I think it's just the protective coating of oil burning off the inside/outside of the can and in my case it went away after 20 or 30 miles. Keep an eye on the right hand edge of the number plate, though.

I think you're right, smell seems to have gone now.

The sound is very subtly different to the oe one, in a good way

I am looking for an exhaust for my TA, but need to clear my pannier rails. Is the can on this arrow setup any wider than the standard exhaust. I have about 1cm between rails and exhaust. I will try and post a pic.

I think it's a bit wider than standard - someone else said that the standard Honda pannier racks don't fit with the Arrow can. The can is mounted on a long tubular spacer to the rear subframe which you could shorten a bit, rotating the can on the downpipe a bit, but then it would exit behind the number plate and the plate wouldn't last long......

I can't speak for pannier racks but I can measure the distance between side panel and can if that's any help?

That's true, there is a spacer, but that's more down to the mounting method/hardware than the physical size of the can. That said, it probably is wider as it is very close to the edge of the rear fairing. It depends how the panier mounts work - and I have no idea !

There's a whole bunch of Motad Venom end cans on ebay. See also deals and discounts forum for discounts on Motad. I am going to take a chance and try get hold of a cheap end can and link pipe from ebay and then see what I cobble up.
Thanks for answers though Sproggy and Dickster.
