Hi guys,
I just sold my 89' Transalp, and bought a 92' Transalp.
Still have the almost new Ohlins rear shock from the 89'.
Will it mount on my new 92' Transalp????
Any information appreciated.

I've no idea if your shock will fit - give it a go and see.![]()

Hola XRV Jim,
My problem is that I am in Ohio in the U.S. at the moment, along with the shock. If the Ohlins doesn't fit, I need to sell it here in The U.S. where there is a better market for it. The 92' Transalp is in Costa RIca, where there is not much demand for a rear aftermarket shock for an 89 Transalp.
The Ohlins is almost new, and I have two springs for it. I have the stock spring, and a heavy duty one for running the bike loaded down.
I have another question for you since you have an Africa Queen.
I have a 91' RD4 with a pretty sagged out rear spring. Where can I get a replacement spring, but heavier than the stock. Maybe a 210# spring.
They never sold At's in The U.S., and it's hard to find parts in Costa Rica.
Thanks, traveler137
Did I make any of this clearer, or just muck it up more????????
Ohlins (http://www.ohlins.com/Motorcycle/tabid/53/Default.aspx) don't list a shock for any Transalp now, so that's a bit of a dead end - I guess it's been discontinued. However Hagon list the same part number for "TRANSALP XL600V-H,J,K,M,N,P,R,S,T (PD06)" from 1987 onwards. By my reckoning that covers well past 1992, and if Hagon list the same shock for all those models then the Ohlins from an '89 bike should fit the '92 model without any problems as well.
As for the AT spring you could try African Queens (http://www.africanqueens.de/html/hon...fricatwin.html - you'll need to make sense of the German) but I think you'd find it far easier to get a heavier spring for an Ohlins or other aftermarket shock than you would for an OE one. However if Honda offered a heavier spring as an accessory you could try David Silver (http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/) who can get any available Honda part at a discount and will ship it anywhere in the world.
Hey Sproggy,
Thanks a lot for the quick reply. I'll check it out.
