    Unhappy Goodbye Wonderfull People

Yip, I have sold my 2004 TA (Zonkmobile) last month. I was looking forward to the new TA. But, like so many, I will be going for the Yam Tenere or the BM 800GS (when they ever release that).

Sorry Honda. I have supported and tamed Africa (OK, not all) for you. But the new TA will just not make it up those rocks on mountains (19" wheel) and the new 17l Tank. Shame on you.

I am immigrating to US next month (green card), so I would in any case not have the new TA in US. But that is OK, since the NEW TA do NOT support my riding style. I ride mostly bad tracks and few tar, so, good buy!

I will not be checking into this forum much longer.

I have to say thank you xrv.org for putting my picture on your 2007 calendar. You really make my year a boasting affair to all my friends. Thank you for always being polite. But, since SA is very close to UK (we were a British colony once, before the Boers took over), I could have expected that. Thanks oaks for allowing me to be part of the xrv.org family for so many years.

But sadly, I have to say goodbye. I will not be able to buy the freaking TA (old one) in US and thus … say farewell.

To everybody, there are some serious knowledgeable people on this forum. OK, all of them. I have learned so much about my TA that I never had to ask any salesman nothing. Thanks for that.

Keep the good name of TA high and maybe I will check in and post my new ride once in US (yip, that police (nany) state )

    Don't go Zonk ,
That's the whole point of d'interweb, doesn't matter where you'll be and you'll still have a trail bike so don't go. Well if you must you can go to the US but stick around here. You could always get one of those harley sportsters with the 21 inch front wheel and put knoblies on it?
    And enjoy your new start.

This is a sad day - it looks like you have the honour of being the first Transalper to jump ships I might have an AT at the moment, but when that's dead it will either be another old AT/TA or something new from another manufacturer. Unless Honda offer something else by then of course.

Do stay in touch on the site!

That's not good news Zonk. I am coming to CT in February and I was going to look you up. Maybe some other time.

As the others said, you don't have to leave the forum, but the best of luck with your new future.

No you are correct. I will NOT leave this site. I enjoy the pommies way to much

But, I do not think the TA is available in US? So if I buy another inferior bike, will I still be welcomed?

JohnR, when you come to SA, visit the http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/. You can join now and start to get to know people. It is the largerst Dual Purpose forum in Africa!! These guys knows every road in SA and most of Africa. Just tell them I said you should join and not one will not try to make your stay as comfortable as possable.

O yes, Pommies, you know that the Springboks (Rugby - SA) is going to take the worldCup?
