    Restricting a 1993 600 Transalp Any good?

I was about to buy a 1993 600 Transalp untill i was told if i fit a 33bhp kit to it it wont run properly? Is this true?

If it is true can anyone recomend a similar style bike that could handle the 33bhp kit better?
It will have to be a big bike since i'm 6 foot and 17 stone so cant be dealing with some cripling sporty bike.

Of course it won't run properly - it won't go as fast! But fitting a restrictor kit will simply give the impression that the throttle isn't fully open - it won't make it misfire or anything else generally considered to constitute "not running properly".

Fi International are the biggest suppliers of kits (trade only) and they'll put you in touch with an approved fitter. They list a kit for the 600TA.

Thanks for info the way the bike seller put it was that it effected the running of the bike if all it does is reduce top speed not a big problem since it will be mainly used for commutting in 30-40 zones. Just thought it would cause weight to power problems and make the bike too heavy to be practicle.

My 650 was restricted when I bought it. No problems riding it at all although it wasn't exactly quick (neither is a "full-power" TA, though). It still pulled OK in town and would do about 80 on the motorway. You won't have any problems - restriction makes less difference in normal (sane) riding than most people would expect. How often do most people ride with the throttle wide open, after all?

If you shift it through the gears quickly at 4.5k - 5.5k rpm it should keep up with the best just on torque.....
