Getting out the spark plugs ...

Hi, trying to get out that aft rear spark plug as I am changing 'em all. Its a 18mm spark plug pipe but it would not fit in the restricted space there in the cyl top. Suggestions? I don't have the Honda original tool, does that work ?

The Honda tool is the only one I've found that fits.

They are utter swines to change made much easier as Recycler said with the Honda tool without there is much scraping of nuckles loads of bad language and shaking of fist, well there was the first time I came to change them without the right tool listen to the advice given by the good people on this forum I did and my doctor is well pleased now my stress levels do not peak every six months coinciding with a TA service.

    They are a pain.......

I changed mine while trying to cure an intermittant misfire, (which turned out to be a CDI...)

I did'nt have the onda tool, bought an expensive plug socket at Brown Bros that fitted.

Managed to get 'em changed without extensive strip down but ended up with no knuckles, (that rad is all sharp edges !). Loosen off with socket, then ram a length of rubber tube over the end of the plug and use it to wind it out. Same process for reinstall.

    cheers
