    Graves crashbars ordered

Yippee, just got a confirmation email from Tomas from Graves that my order for a set of crashbars for my TA has been accepted. Just have to get better between now and when they arrive so's that I'm fighting fit to get them fitted.

Anyone with Graves crashbars have any particular notions on their fitting? I know that a few of you out there have them. Any advice or ideas over the next couple of weeks would be very much appreciated.

    Ride safe.

    Tony

Should this be in Bike Tech or even Transalp?

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

    Re: Graves crashbars ordered

Hi Vulcan72, I just sent an email to the address under Kontact (grave25@volny.cz) and got a reply a couple of days later. I don't think that their english is brilliant but serves the purpose.

The prices I got were -

Mild steel (called 'classic steel'), any of 25 colours at 4,500.00 czk.

Stainless steel (matt finish) at 5,600 czk.

    Carriage at 1,900 czk.

I think that the exchange rate is about 1 pound sterling to 34.6 Czech Koruna.

So that would make the prices £130.00, £162 and £55 in order, as above.

I was just after the bars with the "cross bar" - I am assuming that this is the one that runs just under the headlight.

I could forward the emails to you, if you want. Just PM me.

    regards

    Tony

Certainly will. I have heard that the instructions for fitting the bars are not what they could be, so maybe I'll write some of my own together with relevant photographs. They might be of use to someone and maybe I should offer them to Tomas at Graves as well?

Anyway, need to find some more bits to fit as well - such as HEL brakelines both front and rear.

fitted mine in 20 minutes, both sides and middle just drop on a doddle.
put them all to the bike loose after rmoving engine bolt then tighten from frot to rear.
The longest part was wiring up the lights and that took about an hour as they supply all the switches and relays etc.

you need to go to www.grave.cz but be warned the whole website is in Czech, you just email them an enquiry and then wait....., looking at the kit they produce though I think its worth the bother.

    Re: Graves crashbars ordered

Not sure what form of payment is accpeted yet. The deal is my crash bars are in the making and Tomas will contact me when they are ready and arrange payment, delivery address etc. Once this is done he will then organise them to be shipped out. I have a date of mid-March for delivery. Which is not that quick, but I'm not that fussed over it at the moment.

BTBloke might be along at some time, he'll be able to tell you as he has a set already for his TA. There's pictures around here somewhere and they do look good.
