    Info on 700 Alp

Couple of minor things bugging me about the new Alp, anybody who's got one care to advise?

    1) Air Filter, please don't tell me it's still under the seat?
    2) While we're under the seat, the photo's seem to suggest that there's a lock on the LH side, is this some sort of compartment?
    3) How many spark plugs do it have?
    4) Where is the Oil Filter?

All this will be explained when I actually get to see one "in the flesh", but for now, anyone care to comment

I think it is under the tank.
    2) While we're under the seat, the photo's seem to suggest that there's a lock on the LH side, is this some sort of compartment?
The lock releases the seat, small compartment for tools and book plus oiler and rags.
    3) How many spark plugs do it have?
    two, one on each cylinder.
    4) Where is the Oil Filter?
On the Engine in a hard to reach place.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Hi there, first time poster. I have had my hands on one, hopefully I will have one of my own by the end of the week.

The first three questions are correct and the oil filter is where it is on the 700 Deauville, ie behind the water pump. Easy to get to on the DV, difficult on the TA. Then again, most thing on the DV are worse to get to.

Thanks guys, putting the air filter under the tank makes more sense I assume that's where it is on the 650 Alp? but I assume that's why you end up with a smaller tank.

Ear lobe of Doom, Interesting name and daft enough to fit right in here, welcome aboard

Yup, air filter is under the tank, in a larger version of the trunking that connects the airbox of the 600 to the carbs. Getting at it means tank off.
Shame the 700's tank is smaller though....
