    Unhappy Petrol in oil?

Hi all,im a newbie so please bear with me.I have an old transalp "87,today i went to check the oil level and as soon as i removed the dipstick, oil came flooding out of the top.It smells of petrol and really thin? I replaced the dipstick and started to worry, is it really sick or something else? Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.

    HI
sounds like the float valves in the carbs are sticking allowing them to flood and fill your engine with petrol, you will find your tank less full than when you left it.you will need replace float valves ,drain engine oil change filter and refill with new oil .DO NOT start engine untill this is done.also check fuel tap is functioning correctly...good luck Grahame..

    Hi and welcome,
Check all the obvious things first, is the fuel tap turning off and not leaking and also the carb float height's may require adjustment or even replacement off the float needle, their are carb overhaul kits available from places like m&p and Wemoto and the old oil & filter obviously needs well draining and flushing and replacing its not terminal let us know how you get on.
