I've got a cardo set with my tomtom rider 2, if I use the phone I can hear them fine, but they cannot hear me (unless I stop), also on a long trip consider how you could charge the headset, actualy any niggles with the tomtom/cardo seem to be with the tomtom rather than the cardo but I'm only guessing where the problems lie.
Also best recommendations for comms for when my son is pillion with me?
Already got lidl comms set, but uncomfortable and mic always on!

anyone tried the intraride bike to bike set up - I'd want noise canceling - theres a group of 4 of us that go out regularly and are off on a trip this Summer, so we'd all like to get the same kit. Not interested in music/phone/sat nav just want to be able to chat to the others.
I looked at the autocom website - I tried to understand it, but its extremely complicated to work out what you want.
go to maplins they have a deal on for Cobra pmr radios £50 for 4 units. bike head sets and mikes which stick in to your helmet £30 each. not as technical and expensive as star or autocom units, shazzy also fits I pod ear plugs in her ears because speakers are flat.![]()

Please beware - PMR446 500 miliWatts UHF will only give 1 to 2 kilometers line of sight range. The receivers in the low-end of the market PMR Radios are not very good, so don't expect toooo much from them. IF and it is an IF, I take one on the Ride, I will only use it for comms in and around petrol halts. I used PMR in the Alps (France) in January this year and the Motorola pair performed as indicated on the box. Hope this helps.

Would'nt necessarily agree that if you pays your money for an Autocom all your woes are over and on you go chatting and riding away into the sunset. Perhaps at 25 MPH you will. Don't know how they managed to do the advert with the guy gunning along at 100MPH and talking merrily away. Myself and my pillion can't manage to talk above about 30MPH AND I have tried all options on setting it up AND we have almost swallowed the damm mikes in an effort to get it operating better.oh and I do have an exhaust system on the TA thats perfect

That doesnt sound right to me and Im wondering if theres something wrong with your system - might be worth giving them a call. I've got the cheapest portable autocom box on the market and it's 4 years old now, and even at 80 (which is the fastest I go with the little one on the back) and with earplugs in, we can comunicate perfectly with little or no noise interference whatsoever.
