    Recall notice for XL700

I've had a recall notice, or "Important Product Update Information" as they call it, today. There is apparently a circlip in the rear brake master cyliner that can work loose, causing the pressure to drop and the rear brake to drag. Mine was an early registration, so any new purchases shouldn't be affected.
The work takes about an hour they say, which in reality will mean dropping the bike off in the morning and picking it up at night, which will be annoying. Maybe my crash bars and pannier rails will arrive and the whole job can be done on one go.
Strangely, there was a recall for the Deauville 700 for much the same thing.

At least it fails "safe", having your brake on when you don't want it is a pain, but much better than grabbing the brakes in an emergency and finding one doesn't work

Yes, the are Givi ones, as are the pannier rails. The dealer suspects Givi haven't even started manufacturing them yet, as they are taking so long to arrive

Note that the recall is only for ABS version. 1980 bikes and only 26 in uk(sweden 52) Vin 8E000002-8E001981

My TA is one of theme. Noticed yesterday after riding at -10C. Despite cold, the rear disc was little bit warm when I put my hand on it.

My XL700 is only one of 26 in the UK? Explains why I haven't seen another on the road

    Misstake?
    Of 1980 ABS-bikes between this framenumbers 8E000002-8E001981
has only 26 of theme landed in uk. Framenumber 8E001982 and higher are okay.
Some kind of clip-on earring in the rear brakecylinder(the cylinder near the footpeg/footbrake, dont know the english word for that)whitch will be replaced

I went to my dealer again this weekend.... still no joy on the Givi tn455 crash bars. The picture on Givi's website looks cool as well as the bars being practical.

    Same case here..

has your dealer given you any price for the crashbars ?

i asked mine last week, and still havent received even the price of them..

im starting to think as well that these crashbars are not yet manufactured
