    Sumpguard/bash plate

Hi all, first real post on here and I'm asking questions already. Anyway I've acquired a 1990 TA 600 without most of the fairings. I've managed to gather most of the stuff through ebay (mishmash of colours, thinking of a camouflage scheme), but I'm just wondering is there a decent metal sumpguard available before I buy an original plastic one???

    Hi and welcome.

The bash plate off the Africa looks like it will fit, just got one to put on my TA600, but hav'nt tried to fit it yet.
I have smashed the plastic one bouncing over rocks

Exactly what I intend to do with it, hence the bashplate search
Will you be fitting that soon, interested to see how it turns out.

I wonder if a bash plate from a 650 would do the job, if it does, you're welcome to have my Touratech alluminium bash plate, it is physically perfect, but is quite stained with tarmac from my recent blast through Africa, but nothing a soaking in Diesel or parafin wouldn't shift, I have now gone back to the old plastic bash plate and as I'm not planning to do anything that extreme for a while. I'm down in Cork, so if you're passing through the real capital any time soon it's yours for the taking.

Hiya Rainman, I've a place in Kenmare just across the border from you, thats where the TA is gonna be kept (spins up the Caha Mountains etc). I'll check out the 650 bashplate and get back to you. Really appreciate the offer
BTW RM, you on biker dot ie?

Excellent, we're in Kenmare at least twice a month, oddly enough spinning around the Cork/Kerry Mountains as well.I think we might have to put up a special post for the bash plate question.

The engine/frame is the same so it can be made to fit, you'll find that the mounting points differ.

Thanks wb, in the meantime managed to find an original plastic sumpguard for €20 from a breakers in Dublin. I'm gonna try to replicate the size in alloy plate, or failing that try to fit an AT bashplate.
