    Filtering and mirrors!

    Hi all,
Bought a Transalp a couple of weeks ago (and I absolutely love it ) so had to join the site.

In you vast and varied experience, has anyone come up with a cunning plan to keep the mirrors on the bike but not keep getting stuck next to Transits and Traffic Masters when filtering (mirrors same height)? I commute 40 miles up and down the A2 each day and the only thing that slows me down is the mirrors. Been doing this on sports bikes for years but obviously, not an issue then.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

I'm sure someone will come along with an answer so I wont bother with the obvious I'll just say "welcome to the madhouse"

I don't have the mounting bolts too tight so that, when I hit a Transit's mirror, I can push mine back into position once i'm past (or not, if i'm filtering past several of the wretched things).

Off topic a bit - has your TA got yellow Acerbis stickers on - saw earlier today?

Yup, that's me. Just fitted my new Acerbis bark busters yesterday.

What about the hanlebar, is it not the same widt as the mirrors ? Adjust them back abit, alternatively, live with one only if you dare .. If you put large round orange stickers on your mirrors they will be clearly seen and the vans might think you are bigger and even maybe in the police ..

I tend to wait until the 2 vans are at different levels then filter carefully through. To be honest if my mirrors are in danger then it's a little to close for comfort for me so I wouldn't attempt the filter

    Re: Filtering and mirrors!

    Hi Orinoco,
I join the M2 at J4 between 0630 - 0700 and go through the Blackwall on my way to Newham. Return trip is typically aftere 1800hrs and sooo worth it just not to queue up with all the tin boxes on the A13
