Handlebar Pad anyone - and a GPS mount on it?

My TA came with a chrome HandlePar.

I had to take it off to mount my Garmin Legend HCX GPS with a bike mount on the center on the handlebar, behind the ignition keys...
Its nice but what do you guys think of mounting something like a Renthal handlebar pad and the bike mount on it?

I spoke with a guy yesterday with a 1200 GSA and liked his stock handlebar Pad very much!

Any photos of a TA with an Handlebar Pad like this?

I've seen all the RAM mounts and options... they are interesting but I don't want to go that way for now...

Their kit for the Etrex is interesting...

And the photos were taken in my current garage...!!!

Tried the handlebar reinforcement bar again and it has enough clearance for the GPS... nice! It stays!
