    Making do ......

    ....with what you've got
A new bike & all these grand ideas for extra kit but, as we all know, grand ideas have a habit of becoming a tad expensive

I wanted some sort of luggage for the back but not a top box so I was going to use the Ventura system (bloody good ... but bloody pricey) that I used on my last bike but that would invole new L brackets (if they make 'em for the new Alp) which would be more expense but then I remembered that I had a Oxford Sports magnetic tank bag that's been rained on all over europe so I know it works. I had a bit fiddle, folded the mag flaps underneath, laid a couple of bungees under the seat (making sure they don't get jammed) & hey presto ...........instant tail pack

    Looks almost proper eh

    WOW !!!!...it's very tall !!!

I would be worried in strong side winds with just bungies holding it.

How's the stability if you give it a push sideways at the top when full of gear ?

Is there anywhere to fix webbing type straps anchored on each side ?

    A nice cheap alternative though

It's fully extended which was something you could never do when used as a tank bag 'cos there was a slight problem seeing where you were going

It ain't going anywhere as it is but if I get worried I could put a couple more bungies straight over the top.

Not sure what you mean but the underneath of the rack side rails are contoured and will hold hooks.

    A nice cheap alternative though
    Too right

Looks sound I have to say. I picked up some flat bungees a few weeks ago from a warehouse place in Shrewsbury that are ace for strapping stuff down and NOT rolling off!
