    advice

So Iam pleased with my transalp that I got from my local honda dealer a week ago,, but I have noticed that the rear tyre (OE) is at 2mm and the chain is real dirty and adjusted to the replace chain mark on the adjuster..

xl650v6, any advice when i drop in to the dealer tomorrow, regarding these issues.. bike had 4000 mile service before i picked it up.. will i have to pay for everything or should i try to get freebie... Iam unsure how to approach the dealer. I never bought a bike from a dealer before...

    any suggestions

    Re: advice

The tyre and chain should have been noted by your good self when purchasing the bike - both worth getting a dealer to sort before purchase, as part of the deal.

If you got the bike from Ecosse Honda, then ask for the owner, Martin. He tried his hardest to help the Mountie out with his Tiger, whereas the salesman was less helpful.
As you've only had the bike for a week, they may offer some goodwill (half price tyre and free fitting of a new chain & sprocket set maybe!).

If you dont ask, you wont get.

    Best of luck,

    Steve T

My real gripe is if they had checked the chain at service, surely they should have told me it needed replacing. I would have paid to get it changed then and not have get it back in to get fixed .... and so waisting another day of possible riding (weather dependant) My Wife said it was like walking outside straight into a cloud.. was foggy yesterday
Oh I saw the tiger looked like a nice bike, whats the deal there

The machine wasn't prepped at all when he'd arranged for collection. Then, when he was riding it home, a worried driver shouted that there was fluid "spewing" out from underneath the machine. Turns out the thermostat was broken adn all the coolant from the header tank was venting out onto the rear tyre!!!!

The Mountie gave them the bike back along with his thoughts - the garage couldn't manage to fix it within a week, so the Mountie asked for and got his money back.

I've not had any dealings with this shop, but the Mountie has bought from them before without this sort of negative vibe thing going on. Don't think he'll be back at their door any time soon.

So I was down today, and saw the poor tiger in bits.. poor tiger

I was impressed with Charlie in sales, regarding the chain issue.
The instantly looking over the bike with service manager (forgot name).

Agreed that the chain should have been noticed when checked before hand over. They did not have a chain in stock today, so one was ordered for next week. Free chain and fitting next week..

    Well Done Eccose Honda

Well they use Sillets for tyres, so they say. But did not get round to asking about the tyre as Sillets are closed today.. I will be back in next couple of days. Going to suggest I get a deal for the tyre. hopefully..

    Good going matey.

Nice to see customer relations coming to the front of a dealers "need to do" list.

    Well done again.
