    700 honda high screen review

I've had this on for a few weeks now, mainly in an attemp to direct the airflow away from my visor as in rural sussex I was getting completely fly splattered within minutes.

It has worked well to reduce the flies, its also reduced wind noise dramatically, although I cannot use the vents on the front of my shoei Xr1000 as it causes too much buffeting.

No effect noticed on fuel consumption noticed

The screen makes the bike feel bigger, and initially you tend to go abit quicker as you get used to the lower noise levels

In the rain, my visor is nice and clear, and only the arms on my jacket get wet

    so far thumbs up!

    (I'm 5'11'' and 'normally' proportioned!)

Here you go, Coquetinho. I have a similar Honda screen mounted. It's not cheap, but it looks good, takes a lot of pressure and sound way.

I have a non-honda tall screen. Im 5'11 and its horrible. Buffeting at 100k+ is nasty, a the noise is terrible even from 50k+.
Like the look of the setup on that 700.

the edging strip on the screen is very easily removable - I think it looks better without

Re: 700 honda high screen review

I have a Givi on my TA700, so here are my views on the screen:

    - Well made and half the price of the Honda tall screen. I paid £46 compared to £100 for the Honda item.

    - Easy to fit, which makes swopping screens over very easy. I only put mine on for long journeys.

    - Slightly lower than the Honda screen according to specs from the Manufacturers.

    - I like the fact that it is a "smoke" coloured screen rather than clear - just a personal preference! I also like the curvature of the screen in relation to the lines of the bike, because I think the Honda screen makes it look like one of those Velocette Noddy bikes the police used in the 60's!

    - I had trouble at first with wind turbulance around my helmet from 45 mph which was very uncomfortable. After I changed my helmet from a Schubert to a Shoei Multitec it went away, the difference was amazing. I think someone has already identified in another thread that different helmets have different behaviours in the airflow - my experience supports that view.

    - I find that on a long journey the standard seat is better to use than the cut down one, because for me (I am 5' 7"), that extra height just makes the difference in comfort.

    - Cruising at motorway speeds is comfortable and it keeps the flies and bugs off in the summer.

    - No adverse effects on handling.

As I haven't tried the Honda screen I am not in a position to comment on which one is best, I rather think it is down to personal taste. IMO the only way you can make the best decision for your style and riding needs is to try them both and make your own choice.

    TM.

PS if you want to see a picture - go to the Givi Web Site.

Re: 700 honda high screen review

I tried the Givi screen, and was very disapointed because of the turbulence. Then i bought the org tall screen from Honda, i gues it,s okay, still some turbulence though around 80-90 km/h. I find it wery interesting that Top Marque found a big diferense hven changing Helmet. I use the Schuberth S1 Pro and realy loving it ! So i i would hate to change . I am now vaiting for the wario screen from MRA, said to arive in Juli, I gues i hawe come to the conklusion that i am oversensitiv ??

Re: 700 honda high screen review

I've just come back from a good ride this evening and the Honda screen is really good. Rode without visor down at 80mph no problem with a nice breeze on the face and no turbulence. Did a few miles at over 100mph and it's still totally comfortable with no arm, neck or body strain at all. Handling hasn't been affected and forward vision isn't compromised at all. It IS noisier than the original screen at higher speeds but it doesn't get louder as such when you go faster, once the noise is there it's pretty consistent. I can't imagine running the bike with the original screen now.
